Juniors Words Of Wisdom Round 1
FOOTBALL AND NETBALL IS BACK!! SEASON 2025 IS ON
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!
Welcome everyone to the season opening round. Anzac Weekend. What a special weekend. Having had the honour of playing in a couple Anzac games in my footy career means as much to me as a premiership medal. It’s a very humbling experience. Good luck to all the players in the Anzac games today. Enjoy the moment. As the season starts I’d like to make a special mention of my fellow board members, and all the club delegates and committees who have worked hard during the off season to bring this season to life. Thank you to all. You have done an amazing job!
Not too many changes have occurred over the off season in terms of rule changes for both football and netball so it’s business as usual. Over on the netball court we’re seeing the tactical sub rule continuing on this year and on the footy oval we’ll keep trying to master the “last possession” out of bounds rule. Only 1 season in we’re all still getting a grasp of the changes so please be mindful of comments towards the umpires and other officials.
This year will be a hard year to predict with a number of new faces both on the field and on the court throughout all clubs. I’m hoping to see a strong competition and a tussle to the last round or 2 to set up the final 4 in all grades. Unfortunately Paringa have come up short of a B grade netball side so those games will be missing from the season. It may seem like a small deterrent but it opens up the B grade to becoming more competitive with every game counting towards those coveted spots in the finals. I wish all players and clubs a safe and competitive year. Good Luck everyone!!
Throughout the year I’ll be floating around the grounds watching the games, having a pie, beer, and a chat. If you see me around say G’day. Any questions you’d like to throw at me I’ll be happy to answer as best as I can. I look forward to catching some games with you all throughout the season.
No words of wisdom, I’m not a wise man.
